Die Wandlung tier Anschauungen fiber die Wirkungsweise intra-ven6s eingefiihrter kolloidaler Metalle ist innig an die Fortschritte gebunden, welche sich ira Lauf der letzten Jahrzehnte physikMischchemisches Denken in der Mcdizin erk~rapft hat. l~ber allen Streit, der Theorien hinweg hat sich nut eins behauptet: Der Glaube an die Wirksamkeit. :Die Krankheitsprozesse, bei denen der Praktiker zur Injektion stabilisierter kolloidaler Metalle greift, raehren sich yon Tag zu Tag. Man denke an die vielseitige Anwendung des kolloidaler,~ Silbers. Es gibt kaura eine Allgemeininfektion, die nicht mit kolloidalem Silber mehr oder weniger erfolgreich behandelt worden w~re. Eine n~here Ausftihrung ertibrigt sich. Ich will nur darauf hinweisen, daI~ ira Anfange seiner Anwendung der Gedanke leitend war, eine innere wirksame KSrperdesinfektion zu erreichen (Credd), ausgehend yon der aul~erhalb des KSrpers erforschten bactericiden F~higkeit des Silbers. Etwas Verwandtes mtissen wir in dem Bestreben sehen, Eisen dem K6rper zuzufiihren. Niemeyer, der als erster Eisen therapeutisch gegen An~raien, speziell Chlorose, anwandte, sah in seinen theoretischen (~berlegungen unbedingt zuniichst die cheraische Verwandtschaft zwischen Eisen und H~raoglobin. Zwangsl£ufig rau~te cine Wandlung der Anschauung einsetzen, als v. Noorden das Arsen, ein ausgesprochenes Organgift, therapeutisch in kleinsten Dosen, speziell gegen die Chlorose, mit viel Erfolg anwandte.
