Reaction of 2-bromobuta-I ,3-diene with carbonylirons gives the di(tricarbony1dieneiron) : hexacarbonyl-(3.4-dimethylenehexa-1.5-diene)di-iron (111), the di(tricarbony1dieneiron) ketone : hexacarbonyl-(3.5-dimethylenehepta-1.6-dien-4-one)di-iron (V), tricarbonyl-(2-rnethylenebut-3-enoic acid)iron (VI), nonacarbonyl-(3,5-dimethylene-4-methylnona-I ,8-dien-6-yne)tri-iron (IV), tricarbonyl-2-bromobuta-I ,3-dieneiron (I) and tricarbonylbuta-I . 3-dieneiron (11). The mechanism of formation of these complexes is discussed and two novel pairs of diastereomers are described. * We do not yet know whether (111) and (V) are the nzeso or yacenzic forms.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
