Term Analysis of the 4d 9 5s 5d-Configuration in the Arc Spectrum of SilverAbstract. The arc spectrum of silver has been remeasured in the range of 1100 to 9800 A. This yielded some 140 new lines. Analysing these lines together with about 50 previously unidentified lines of Shenstone established 20 new levels. The configurations 4d 9 5s 5p and 4 d 9 5 S 6 S are now completely analysed. In the 4 d 9 5 S 5 d-configuration about half of the expected levels were identified. Two new 4d95 s 7s levels were found.

Absorption Cross Section and Oscillator Strength of the Autoionizing Line Hg I 1126,6 The absorption cross section of the strongest autoionizing line of neutral mercury has been measured photoelectrically. The integrated cross section yielded an f-value of 0.53 ___ 0.03. This compares well with the f-values of the corresponding lines in Zn I and Cd I, but is considerably smaller than the value expected from dispersion measurements.
