Trefwoorden: kruipend moerasscherm, Helosciadium repens, Apium, Natura 2000, Nederland, België This report presents the results of a study on the soil properties, hydrology and grassland management of the habitat of creeping marshwort (Helosciadium repens) in the province of Zeeland, with reference to the conditions in some Belgian sites. In two of the Dutch Natura 2000-sites that have been established for the species, Canisvliet and Groote Gat, conditions are good and improving. We didn't notice any negative impact of geese or atmospheric nitrogen deposition. The third site (Vogelkreek) harbours a very small population, which is threatened by erosion of the shore. Here, it requires huge restoration efforts to realize conditions that might guarantee long-term survival of a viable population. The report further describes the limited dispersal possibilities of creeping marshwort. This may have resulted in genetically different meta-populations in the country, which will be studied in future.
