Zedimensional finite elements are used to help directly incorporate models of nonlinear power electronic switching devices into nonlinear transient magnetic finite element analysis. Iko applications are considered: a buck regulator circuit and a transformer feeding a rectified load.
High-frequency coupled electromagnetic field problems are analyzed using the magnetic vector potential finite element method. The two-and three-dimensional computer programs used here are extensions of previously developed static and eddy current programs. Bou.ndary conditions are presented that enable analysis of reflected electromagnetic waves and absorbed electromagnetic waves. Calculated resonant frequencies are shown to agree closely with classical theory for reffected waves. The absorbing finite elements are shown to give low reflections.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
