The consistency of eight vitreous enamel frits, r epresenting eight commercial types, was studied at and near the firing t emperatures by means of a small rotation viscometer. The results are expressed in terms of viscosity for the frits which behaved as si mple viscous liquids and apparent viscosity for those not behaving as viscous liquids. Comparisons are made at constant torque in the apparatus, and the effect of variations in t emperature and variations in t y pe of frit are reported. Also, f or individual enamel frits, the effect of varying the speed of rotation at different constant t emperatures is shown graphically.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
