A 62-year-old female was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the upper rectum. At the time of the assessment, she was suffering from metrorrhagia. A gynaecological examination revealed a posterior, low vaginal lesion that was remote from the lower pole of the rectal tumour. Biopsies showed that the rectal and vaginal lesions were the same. However, the vaginal lesion was not detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). At the same time as resection of the high rectum lesion, local excision of the vaginal lesion (0.8 · 1.2 cm, with 1 cm margins) was performed. The patient received FOLFIRI as adjuvant irinotecan-based chemotherapy. There was no recurrence 1 year after surgery.
Mots clés Chirurgie bariatrique · Sleeve gastrectomy · Endoscopie interventionnelleAbstract Bariatric surgery has been developed for the treatment of severe obesity. Sleeve gastrectomy (SG) is an operation which is being performed more frequently. Its possible complications can be managed endoscopically, in a relatively elective fashion for those patients who are not suitable for further surgery. We use three recent cases to illustrate the different techniques available.
