This paper is intended to study Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) concept and filtering system as part of solution to handle Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) problems. Insertion Loss (IL) parameter from the various possible combinations were examined to choose the best performance of the new filter topology which is the most efficient. The filters installed before the equipment rectification on low voltage system (220 Volt line to neutral) is called EMI filter. EMI filters were built and analyzed from the integration of harmonic filter and Low Pass Broadband Filter (LPBF). Some EMC standards have been elaborated to determine the parameters of the filter. The results of the best performance filter were simulated by Simulink-Matlab to show that the new proposed filter can reduce power distortion and transient from switching process significantly.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
