A música sempre esteve presente na sociedade, caracterizando épocas, ideias e sentimentos. O objetivo do presente trabalho é demonstrar a aplicabilidade da música na terapia fonoaudiológica voltada para o desenvolvimento infantil. Justifica-se este trabalho devido a música ser parte do contexto da terapia, podendo ser um agente benéfico e impulsionador. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica de e de natureza qualitativa, nas bases do Google acadêmico e Scielo. A relação música-cérebro não se baseia apenas no fato da estimulação sonora envolver funções neuropsicológicas complexas, mas abrange o estudo das emoções, devido as respostas fisiológicas descobertas em razão de estímulos musicais, como o estudo da aquisição da linguagem, ao constatar a existência de um elo neurobiológico entre o ritmo musical e a fala expressiva. A pesquisa traz como conclusão que a música é um objeto facilitador para áreas como a psicomotricidade, compreensão, interação social, memória de trabalho, entre outras.
