The shifting trend of conventional to the electric drivetrain in automotive industries makes batteries become the most favorable energy storage. There are three types of battery cells that are commonly used for electric vehicles i.e., cylindrical cells, pouch cells, and prismatic cells. The use of active material such as lithium-ion in the battery of electric vehicles could bring some issues related to the safety field. For that reason, comprehensive research on battery failure analysis needs to be conducted. This paper reviews the recent progress of the use of battery cells in electric vehicles and some challenges which must be considered to assure their safety. There are a lot of studies on battery failure analysis, which mainly focuses on the appearance of a short circuit as the main cause of the thermal runaway event. Several proposals on predicting short circuits in the battery due to various loading are comprehensively discussed. Those research results can be considered to establish regulations in designing battery protectors.

Light brick compressive strength produced by UD. XY has a very high variation because there is no standard composition of raw materials. This research is carried out to design an improvement or quality improvement for light brick products at UD. XY. Quality improvement is on increasing the compressive strength of light brick with optimal composition. Quality improvement is conducted using the experimental design of the Taguchi method to obtain an optimal composition combination. The orthogonal array notation used is L9(34) with material control factors in the form of water (A), cement (B), and sand (C). Data processing is done by calculating ANOVA on average values and SNR with larger better classification. The classification is chosen because of the greater the compressive strength of the light brick the higher the quality of the light brick. This ANOVA calculation is carried out to find out which factors significantly influence the light brick compressive strength. The test conducted to determine the quality of light brick is a concrete compressive strength test carried out using the Compression Machine. Based on the results of data processing, a comparison of the optimal composition of water: cement: sand is 1: 2.5: 4. The confirmation experiment proves that the compressive strength of the composition is robust.

Featured Application: Authors are encouraged to provide a concise description of the specific application or a potential application of the work. This section is not mandatory.Abstract: This work aims to investigate piezoresistive behavior in plain-woven carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). Measurement method for electric resistant alteration in the woven CFRP under tensile loading by using a Wheatstone bridge circuit is introduced. Reversibility of the resistant alteration is also investigated whereas the gauge factor of the woven CFRP is evaluated. The result shows that the positive piezoresistive properties of the woven CFRP can be observed by the Wheatstone bridge circuit. The specific resistances of 43.8 µΩm and 10.1 µΩm are obtained for wrap and thickness directions, respectively. Reversibility with a hysteresis of the woven CFRP can also be confirmed with the gauge factor of 22.9 at loading conditions and 17.7 at unloading conditions. Positive piezoresistive behavior which has been revealed in this work can be utilized for structural health monitoring technology development.
Intercity integration in a metropolitan area forms a unified city that is interconnected like a mutualism symbiosis. Metropolitan areas provide opportunities for people between regions or between cities to connect with each other by doing non-permanent mobility. The purpose of this study is to identify how much potentially women are trapped spatially than men in some metropolitan areas in Indonesia. Spatial entrapment is a condition that is more common in women who trip in shorter distance and times during commuting between place of residence and place of work. This study uses micro data from the 2018 national labor force survey (SAKERNAS), which the survey was conducted by Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The research approach is quantitative by using descriptive analysis to see the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable through bivariate cross tabulation analysis and graphics. Then, inferential analysis is used to determine the effect of independent variables on dependent variables inferentially. The inferential analysis model used in this study is multinomial logistics regression. The results show variables that influence the spatial entrapment of women workers are wage, work statues, and mode of transportation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
