One of the potentials that according to most people is worthless is rubbish. Garbage is a consequence of human activity. Plastic waste is one of the types of waste whose existence dominates the human environment. One technique for reusing inorganic waste can be done by making used goods as agricultural containers, besides being cheap, easy to obtain, durable, and also able to reduce the level of pollution to the environment. This dedication activity is carried out using training methods. The number of participants as many as 25 people who are communities around the coastal region, namely in the Village Turikamaseng, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The results of the activities showed that the interests and skills of the community after attending the training activities increased. The material given in the opinion of the community is quite interesting and can be applied directly in their daily lives. The conclusion that is able to provide an understanding of the importance of protecting the environment around us. In addition, the methods used in this activity have been able to improve the knowledge and skills of partner communities in terms of knowledge about hydroponic farming.
Natural Floods are the main form of environmental disaster worldwide in terms of frequency, and scale is associated with a tenfold increase in costs over the last half-century. Generally, chronic flood disasters occur in several cities in Southeast Asia, including Jakarta. Misuse of spatial planning is said to be the main factor causing flooding. A community-based approach in urban planning with Green Open Space (RTH) can be a solution to reducing the risk of flood disasters. Through giving directions to the community to comply with regulations in building settlements, administering Building Permits, and consulting first with the PTSP of the nearest sub-district or sub-district before buying land, it is something that the community can do so that the percentage of land use mismatches and land use conversion does not increase.
A sustainable production forest is a forest that can produce economically valuable and sustainable products, meaning that these products are used for life today and in the future. Mangrove forests products and services consist of wood and non-timber. Such as wood and aquatic organisms living in it as a source of income and livelihood for the community around the mangrove forest area. The data collection techniques used were adjusted to the required data, including observation, documentation techniques, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. The number of samples used was 60 people. It was determined using a SWOT analysis to specify the management of mangrove forests strategy as a sustainable production forest area. Furthermore, internal (Internal Factor Analysis Strategic) and external (External Factor Analysis Strategic) factors are calculated. Based on this, the strategy taken is (1) developing the sustainable and economically valuable mangrove forest resources potential through cultivation and fishing that is environmentally friendly, (2) increasing the role of NGOs to increase knowledge and community awareness in mangrove management, (3) developing the potential of mangrove forests as an eco-tourisms area, (4) empowering communities through groups of fishermen/farmers to create a home-scale industry based on mangrove resources.
