Australia’s demographics are going through structural and cultural impediments, and massive changes are starting to occur in the following five years. The baby boomers’ generation is in the process of retiring. The major task which consumes most of the time was to extract knowledge from the baby boomers. Moreover, it involves identifying and evaluating knowledge from critical employees and will leave the establishment sooner. Succession planning mostly involves employees, which are about to depart the organization in the short term, and new skilled employees will engage in the function. Effective succession planning requires affirmative responses regarding the department’s organizational culture, functionality, goals and objectives, and relationship with the stakeholders and vision. To deliver high-quality succession planning, it is indispensable to deliver a robust Successor-Incumbent relationship, mutual reliance, open and sincere communication. Therefore, this paper emphasizes the strategic plan for succession planning and explains how critical it is to have clear, trustable, and authentic communication between the successor and the Incumbent.

Turing Pharmaceuticals, guided through CEO Martin Shkreli, a start-up increased the price of Daraprim -the standard treatment for toxoplasmosis -by 5433% from $13.50 per pill to $750.00 per tablet. Such incident again brings the attention towards the unregulated drug price in the US, which diverges from other developed nations. Moreover, such cases raise eyebrows among the society and force people to understand the intersection of healthcare, business practices and justice. Price raised by Turing Pharmaceuticals has a devastating force on the low-income people of US. It delivers a devastating consequence on the patients, and in the difficult economic situation, 5000% hike in costs is unreasonable. Many stakeholders are affected by the steep cost of the drug. Hence, drug price becomes one of the political agenda for the political leaders. Thus, the price rise caused by a Turing Pharmaceutical company triggered the burning issue of Biopharma companies to put profit before patient's health.
The article illustrates the business plan of a social enterprise - Budaya. This business is based on the recent visible trends of the growing number of international students in Australia. One of the main problems they face is getting work opportunities in the country due to work restrictions or lack of Australian work experience. Also, Australian companies prefer to hire locals. Moreover, small and medium companies (SME’s) are trying to explore the international markets to diversify their business. It requires information about the international markets and its preferences. Thus, there is an unmet need on both sides. To meet these demands, we have come up with a platform called Budaya to match both these unmet needs. Based in Brisbane, Budaya is a platform to provide international students work opportunities in the form of internships in local SME’s based on their cultural knowledge and skills and to some degree, this behavior will also help companies to understand the different culturally diverse markets by employing international students. Our purpose is to help international students find working opportunities and local companies get foreign markets information. Thus, Budaya is a social enterprise, as the income generated from the business shall be invested back into the business to make it grow.
