RESUMO -Inicialmente foram identificados em amostras de hidrolisados industriais, os principais compostos lignocelulósicos inibidores da fermentação alcoólica via cromatografia líquida alta eficiência, sendo eles ácido acético, ácido glicólico, ácido levulínico, HMF, furfural, ácido p-cumárico, ácido ferúlico e ácido vanílico. Tendo os principais compostos quantificados e identificados, realizou-se um estudo de diferentes concentrações destes inibidores em quatro diferentes linhagens laboratoriais e industriais (CEN.PK113-7D, CEN.PK112, SA-1 e JAY270), a fim de verificar a toxidade dos mesmos frente aos principais parâmetros cinéticos da fermentação (fase lag e µmáx,). De forma geral, a linhagem industrial S. cerevisiae SA-1 mostrou-se mais tolerante frente às demais linhagens, em praticamente todas as condições analisadas. Visto que o segundo composto identificado nas amostras foi o ácido p-cumário um estudo de sua toxicidade frente às leveduras laboratoriais e industriais foi realizado e observado que este composto possui um efeito dose dependente.
