Résumé À la suite de l’introduction, dans les années quatre-vingt, des formations par apprentissage dans les grandes entreprises, l’auteure interroge le rapport au travail des apprentis. Le désenchantement des apprentis facteurs/trieurs résulte de la découverte progressive de leurs futures conditions de travail et d’emploi. Si, dans un premier temps, ils développent plaisir et zèle au travail, ils mettent en œuvre, dans un second temps, des pratiques de freinage, de dérobade et d’opposition : ce qu’ont acquis les apprentis, ce n’est pas tant une formation qu’une socialisation au travail, marquée par l’intégration au sein d’un collectif d’apprentis, consistant tout à la fois à adopter des pratiques propres à la culture de travail tout en prenant de la distance avec les traits le plus stigmatisant de la condition ouvrière.
