This paper deals with enhancing the security of data transmission in 3G, 4G networks. An enhanced encryption method with AES algorithm is used here within TLS. SHA-256 is used for integrity and RSA for key exchange. Enhancement is done with AES by modifying the S-box. The static S-box is made dynamic using cipher key. To increase the complexity of the system, AES is used in Round structure. The performance is evaluated based on parameters: Runtime, Throughput, CPU Usage, memory usage and Avalanche Effect for the input text file, image file, audio file and video file. Maximum speed achieved by the system is around 2.2Mbps which is compatible with LTE networks. There is not much difference in the speed of traditional AES and enhanced AES. Also the complexity is increased by the use ofRound structure and the system becomes more attack resistant. The number of rounds of enhanced system can be reduced to increase throughput value and make the system more compatible with 3G, 4G networks.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
