There has been a steady increase of iron ore demand in the last few decades. This growing demand could be countered by use of low grade iron ore after beneficiation. Banded iron formations (BIF) are one of the resources of such low grade iron ores. Banded magnetite quartzite (BMQ) is one such BIF and a source of iron phase mineral in the form of magnetite. In the present study a low grade BMQ ore containing around 25.47% Fe was beneficiated for recovery of magnetite. XRD study shows that quartz, magnetite, hematite, and goethite are the major minerals phases present in the low grade BMQ sample. Unit operations such as crushing, scrubbing, grinding, and magnetic separations were used for recovering magnetite. Based on the large scale beneficiation studies the process flowsheet has been developed for enrichment of magnetite. It was found that with the help of developed process flowsheet it is possible to enrich Fe value up to 65.14% in the concentrate with a yield of 24.59%.
Mature cystic teratoma is the most common benign tumor of the ovaries in women of reproductive age. Dermoid tumor in an ectopic or aberrant location is usually detected incidentally. The occurrence of a dermoid tumor in the fallopian tubes is extremely rare, with only approximately 75 cases being reported worldwide in the English language literature. This report describes a left-sided fallopian tube dermoid tumor in a 27-year-old woman with chronic right tubal ectopic gestation and discusses its clinical implications. Inspection of the contralateral fallopian tube in a woman with a ruptured tubal ectopic pregnancy is required clinically to rule out bilateral tubal ectopic gestation. Although rare, the ectopic presence of a dermoid tumor in the fallopian tube may be an incidental finding requiring surgical removal.
Primary ovarian pregnancy is rare, accounting for 0.5%–3.0% of all ectopic gestations. It was earlier diagnosed by the classical Spiegelberg's criteria. Ultrasonographic diagnostic criteria have now been described for preoperative diagnosis. We report a case of primary ovarian pregnancy in a 30-year-old woman, where the diagnosis was made preoperatively, and discuss the challenges in diagnosis and management for optimal patient outcomes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
