ABSTRACT:In recent years there is an explosive growth towards broadband access technologies which basically require higher bandwidth, better flexibility and lower cost access network and enable users to access internet in an "Anytime Anywhere" fashion. So Fiber-Wireless (Fi-Wi) is efficiently combination of both optical network and wireless network which can change the future of broadband services. By integrating the technical merits of both the technologies Fi-Wi broadband access network is proposed which provides an internet services with high speed at lower cost. The key issue in Fi-Wi network is the placement of optical network unit (ONU) since it provides interface between the optical and wireless network in order to making cost -efficient network different algorithms proposed. In this paper we go through different algorithms and analyzing which one is efficient for ONU placement in network.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
