No Brasil, há um grande número de espécies de drosofilídeos, tendo um aumento nos últimos anos, devido à chegada de espécies invasoras, como por exemplo Zaprionus indianus, nativa da África. Essa espécie se estabeleceu rapidamente no continente brasileiro, inclusive em locais mais áridos, como a Caatinga. A Caatinga é um bioma exclusivamente brasileiro, localizado principalmente na região nordeste, apresentando sazonalidade dividida em períodos chuvosos e secos, dessa forma essa sazonalidade interfere nos padrões das espécies. O presente trabalho objetivou identificar a predileção de sazonalidade da espécie invasora Z. indianus. Foram realizadas duas coletas, uma no período seco, no mês de dezembro de 2021, e uma no período chuvoso, no mês de julho de 2022, utilizando 5 armadilhas com isca de banana, em cada estação, no Parque Estadual de Pedra da Boca (Paraíba). As amostras foram armazenadas em álcool e levadas para o laboratório para a identificação a partir da literatura. As amostragens realizadas nos períodos seco e chuvoso obtiveram um total de 676 indivíduos, com maior abundância para Zaprionus indianus (41%). Zaprionus indianus apresentou um aumento da abundância durante o período chuvoso, corroborando com estudos realizados na região da Caatinga, principalmente para as ordens Diptera, Isoptera, Coleoptera, Homoptera e Orthoptera. O estudo sobre a sazonalidade é pouco realizado, porém possui uma grande importância, principalmente porque mostra o padrão de espécies durante as diferentes estações, além de conhecer os padrões de invasoras que podem ameaçar a assembléia de drosofilídeos e até mesmo a conservação dos ambientes naturais.
