RESUMOCom o decorrer do tempo na cultura ocidental, o tema de morte é vista pela sociedade com preconceito, onde muitas pessoas encontram dificuldades de se falar sobre esse assunto. Os profissionais de saúde que trabalham diariamente com a possibilidade de morte encaram-na como um resultado não desejado diante do objetivo de sua profissão, que é a busca da saúde e a cura das doenças. Se sentem frequentemente responsáveis pela manutenção da vida de seus pacientes, que muitas vezes encontram-se gravemente enfermos gerando situações acompanhadas de grande sofrimento, provocando em muitos deles sentimentos de impotência, culpa em relação à perda dos pacientes. Este estudo buscou compreender e refletir sobre a importância e a necessidade dos profissionais terem conhecimento sobre o tema de morte e o processo de morrer. Participaram do estudo 13 técnicos de enfermagem de ambos os gêneros, com idade entre 23 e 54 anos, atuando profissionalmente na clínica médica de um Hospital Geral. Como principais dados identificados na análise do conteúdo das verbalizações dos participantes identificou-se sentimento de compaixão e impotência, frente ao processo de morte. Com relação à percepção do processo de morrer, identificou-se que os profissionais a compreendem como um ciclo natural da vida. Através da análise das entrevistas dos profissionais foi possível identificar a necessidade da preparação emocional dos mesmos, frente aos sentimentos vivenciados por estes durante o processo de morrer de seus pacientes e da dificuldade de trabalhar esta temática com os familiares.
Considerando à complexidade de situações e procedimentos na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva e a importância da atuação dos profissionais da enfermagem neste ambiente, este estudo teve como objetivo a identificação dos aspectos emocionais dos profissionais de enfermagem atuantes em uma UTI. A proposta foi de mensurar o nível dos aspectos emocionais propostos por Beck (1993) de ansiedade, depressão, desesperança e ideação suicida nos profissionais da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva de um Hospital do Interior de Santa Catarina. Como instrumentos foram utilizados um questionário sócio demográfico, os Inventários Beck de Ansiedade (BAI), Depressão (BDI), Desesperança (BHS) e Ideação Suicida (BSI), e também uma entrevista semi estruturada. A amostra do estudo foi constituída de 26 indivíduos dos quais 23,07% são enfermeiros e 76,93% técnicos em enfermagem. Destes 84,61% da amostra são do gênero feminino e 15,38% do gênero masculino. A faixa etária predominante dos indivíduos da amostra é de 24 à 28 anos de idade. No que diz respeito aos aspectos emocionais identificados pode-se encontrar que o aspecto emocional mais evidente no grupo estudado foi o da ansiedade e um dos fatores que influenciam neste e nos demais aspectos abordados no estudo foi salientado pelos profissionais da amostra, que é a instabilidade do ambiente da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. Sendo assim, diante da condição oferecida pelo ambiente em que estes profissionais optaram atuar, estes acabam desenvolvendo mecanismos de defesa, como por exemplo, 65,38% dos profissionais buscam conversar com os colegas de trabalho, 30,76% buscam conversar com outras pessoas e 15,38% utilizam como mecanismo fazer atividades de lazer.
O estresse é definido como um processo temporário de adaptação que compreende modificações físicas e mentais. Quando as consequências do estresse não são tratadas adequadamente podem evoluir para o desenvolvimento da síndrome de burnout, mais comumente conhecida como a síndrome do cuidador descuidado ou do assistente desassistido (BENEVIDES-PEREIRA, 2010 apud PORTERO; RUIZ, 1998). O objetivo desse estudo foi Identificar a incidência da síndrome de burnout em profissionais que atuam na prática docente de um município do Planalto Norte de Santa Catarina. Tratou-se de uma pesquisa básica e descritiva de abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa tendo como critério de inclusão para este estudo a assinatura do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido e o preenchimento completo dos questionários. Como principais resultados, destaca-se que participaram do estudo 173 professores. Da amostra total 75,2% possuem entre 31 a 50 anos de idade. Quanto à carga horária 67,1% possuem jornada entre 31 a 40 horas semanais. Quanto ao gênero 87,9% são do gênero feminino e 12,1% são do gênero masculino. No que se refere à síndrome de burnout na amostra estudada, 35,8% apresentam possibilidade de desenvolver a síndrome, 49,7% encontram-se em fase inicial de burnout, 12,7% estão no inicio da instalação da síndrome e 1,7% apresentam fase considerável. Este estudo aponta que na prática docente a incidência de burnout é decorrente devido o aumento de responsabilidades exigidas ao profissional que, muitas vezes não possui meios necessários para atender a estas demandas. Outro aspecto que ressalta esse índice relaciona-se à alta expectativa depositada no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, que muitas vezes não apresenta um retorno tão efetivo (BENEVIDES-PEREIRA, 2010). O objetivo deste estudo foi o de analisar as representações sociais dos sujeitos que vivem em condição de pobreza no Planalto Norte de Santa Catarina. Participaram 115 mães, com idade entre 18 e 63 anos, todas beneficiárias do Programa Bolsa Família, residentes nos municípios de Mafra, São Bento do Sul, Três Barras e Irineópolis. Constatou-se que os participantes do estudo compreendem a pobreza a partir de uma visão multidimensional, pela qual a ausência de renda não é o único fator considerado como provocador desta condição de forma que os elementos identificados reforçam a visão de que o desenvolvimento da região também está relacionado o envolvimento social de seus sujeitos, permitindo que os mesmos possam fazer e sentir-se ativos no processo de crescimento pessoal e crescimento de seu território, pois a ausência de entendimento sobre o seu crescimento pessoal impede a leitura de crescimento de território.
Apsicologia está inserida nos mais variados contextos, desde organizações detrabalho até clínicas, escolas, penitenciárias, e com fundamental importância,nos hospitais gerais. Quando uma pessoa adoece e precisa ser hospitalizada,toda a sua vida sai do contexto com o qual ela está habituada, e então eladeverá lidar com seu processo de adoecimento unido a falta de privacidade,permanência fora do aconchego de seu lar, e a perda da sua identidade e funçãosocial. Este processo pode se tornar mais intenso quando a internação passa deum quarto para uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI). Considerando as demandasexistentes, foi realizado este estudo com o objetivo de descobrir qual apercepção do paciente sobre seu período de internação na Unidade de TerapiaIntensiva em um hospital geral. Fizeram parte deste estudo 20 pacientes, osquais haviam recebido alta a menos de 24 horas da UTI, sendo 55% do gênerofeminino e 45% do gênero masculino, com idade entre 44 e 88 anos. Dentre osresultados obtidos, foi possível perceber que 75% dos entrevistados afirmaramse sentir bem dentro da UTI, relatando que isso foi possível devido aoatendimento humanizado que receberam. No entanto, 40% da amostra demonstroupassar pelo processo de despersonalização a nível espacial. Levando emconsideração esses dados, percebe-se que o processo de humanização na unidadede terapia intensiva é fundamental para amenizar a dificuldade do paciente emlidar com seu processo de adoecimento, porém ainda assim poderão existirfatores que causarão desequilíbrio emocional no paciente hospitalizado.
