A new species Carebara panhai Jaitrong, Pitaktunsakul et Jantarit, sp. n., closely related to C. pygmaea (Emery, 1887), is described from Kanchanaburi Province in Thailand based on the worker caste. The new species is easily distinguished from the closely related species (C. rubra (F. Smith, 1860), C. transversalis (F. Smith, 1860) and C. pygmaea) by the presence of erect hairs on the dorsum of body. New species was found nesting in the twilight zone of a cave. The major and minor workers of C. pygmaea are described and illustrated also.
Recurvidris Bolton, 1992 is a small myrmicine genus of the tribe Crematogastrini. Until now, eleven species are known in this genus from Asia. A new species, Recurvidrislekakulisp. n., is here described from Thailand based on the worker caste. The type series of the new species was collected from leaf litter in a dry evergreen forest. A key to the Asian species of Recurvidris based on the worker caste is provided.
Two new species of the tribe Olethreutini are described and illustrated from Thailand: Baburia paucustriga Jirasuttayaporn and Pinkaew, n.sp., and Metendothenia ordospina Jirasuttayaporn and Pinkaew, n.sp. The two new taxa increase the number of described species in Baburia to three and in Metendothenia to 14.
