Ahstract-Th i s paper descr i bes a funct i onal fat i gue detect i on system for nonlinear SMA-based control valve. Any drift from the normal behavior of the valve is revealed us i ng a model-based residual generator by means of a nonl i near auto-regressive with eXogenous i nput (NARX) model. Based on the opt i m i sation property of cumulative sum (CUSUM), an onl i ne system for detect i ng changes i n statistical properties of residuals due to fatigue of the valve is developed. The exper i mental results suggest that the variance of one step ahead (OSA) error and model predicted error (MPE) is a good i ndicator of fatigue states of the valve.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
