A DTBP-promoted C–H thiolation of aldehydes with disulfides under metal-free and solvent-free conditions is described. The system shows good functional group tolerance to afford thioesters in moderate to excellent yields.
A simple and convenient approach for the synthesis of acylsulfenic acid alkyl esters and benzoyl alkyl disulfides from thiobenzoic acids is described. This reaction uses commercially available [bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodo]benzene (PIFA) as an oxidant under mild reaction conditions.
Peracetic acid promoted C-Se coupling reaction of arenes with diselenides under metal-free and solvent-free conditions has been described. The resulting selenide ethers were obtained in good to excellent yields. Peracetic acid provided the selenide ethers via sp 2 C-H selenation whereas previously in case of DTBP sp 3 C-H selenation was observed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
