A partir del análisis contrastivo de un corpus de documentos notariales de los siglos XVI al XIX se observa la evolución de uno de los mecanismos cohesivos más característicos de este tipo textual: la anáfora léxica, representada principalmente por los sintagmas nominales anafóricos reiterativos.En este estudio comprobamos el cambio en los modos de expresión que oponen los siglos XVI y XVII a las dos centurias siguientes, con la tendencia a una prosa menos repetitiva y más rica en elementos léxicos. De igual modo, se ha puesto de relieve la vinculación de la expresión lingüística de la tradición con los actos de habla imperantes en esta clase de documentos y su reflejo como seña de identidad en la anáfora léxica reasuntiva.
A partir del estudio de las Obras de D. Antonio Rafael Mengs, primer pintor de Cámara del Rey, publicadas por D. José Nicolás de Azara a finales del siglo XVIII, la autora de esta investigación realiza, en primer lugar, una caracterización lexicológica de este tratado teórico-artístico, prestando especial atención al léxico propio del género al que pertenece. A continuación, se analizan los neologismos del siglo XVIII encontrados en el texto.
