ConclusionIt was possible to impressively show the efficiency of the newly developed CPP cleaning process in direct comparison with a special conventional jet-pulse system. The CPP cleaning shows clear advantages compared with the examined jetpulse cleaning. With the CPP process, very high cleaning intensities can be achieved.Using a cluster of 18 rigid ceramic filter candles, a specific comparison of the two systems was made: By means of the CPP system, at a pressure of the cleaning gas of 0.3 MPa, a cleaning intensity could be achieved which was four times as high as the cleaning intensity achieved at most with the examined conventional jet-pulse system. When the CPP process is used in practice, generally, a low pressure of the cleaning gas is sufficient which is only 0.05 to 0.2 MPa higher than the pressure of the filter system. This reduces capital investment and operating costs, particularly in pressurized processes. Additionally, one of the remarkable features of the CPP cleaning process is its high flexibility. The cleaning intensity can be adapted in a wide range by varying the pressure of the cleaning gas.
