This article is part of the work of the Media Observatory of the Communication Career of the Salesiana Polytechnic University-Quito; intends to analyze the news coverage of the current affairs, politics and security sections, to determine the media agenda of the print media El Comercio and El Universo, within the framework of the Lenín Moreno government; Government of neoliberal court; and its relationship with the political cartoon published in the same media. The conceptual construction is characterized by interrelated the Media and Politics categories according to the construction of the Setting Agenda and the Political Cartoon; For this, it is expected to work from the methodological triangulation, which specifies the collection of information based on an analysis matrix that allows identifying recurring themes in the media and contrasting it with the graphic representation of the cartoon.
