The current situation in Vietnam is that patients with their illness can easily go to drugstores to buy medicine by their own prescriptions or drugstore ones. This exists for a long time. This research is not focus on the ways to combat this phenomenon, but we aim to study the factors that are affecting behaviors of patients in choosing drugstores in the South of Vietnam. We employed both quantitative and qualitative methodologies for this research; 400 people responded to survey questions and 10 people involved in interviews. Briefly analysis from quantitative study showed that the affected factors are price and process, which is convenient, and people answered to interview agreed that price and product are the important factors for them to go to drugstores. Hence, the sales and policies makers should pay attention to the needs of customers in doing business of drugstores.
Life cycle assessment (LCA) is considered a holistic approach in evaluating the environmental impacts of a product in its life cycle. Recently, LCA method has been applied in the shipping and shipbuilding sectors. In order to provide a comprehensive LCA research in the field of naval architecture, this study uses LCA method to assess the environmental performance of a Panamax oil tanker in its whole life cycle. The ship’s life cycle including transportation activities is divided into five phases: raw material extraction & production, shipbuilding, operation, maintenance, and ship’s end of life. CML 2001 is chosen as the life cycle impact assessment methodology. GaBi software is used to obtain the life cycle emission inventory and environmental impacts. The results show the contributions of each life cycle phase to the total life cycle. Detailed emissions and environmental impacts of the ship are also analyzed. Due to huge amount of fuel consumed in ship operation, this phase dominates the emissions and environmental impact, compared with other phases. This study gives to the LCA practitioners a cradle-to-grave LCA example that could be useful for future researches in the field of shipping and shipbuilding sectors.
The use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to predict internal and external flows has risen dramatically in the past decade. This research aims to use the commercial software, ANSYS Fluent V.14.5, to illustrate the effects of the rudder and blade pitch on the hydrodynamic performance of the marine propeller by experimenting with propellers and rudders of the M/V Tan Cang Foundation ship, which has designed conditions as follows: diameter of 3.65 m; speed of 200 rpm; average pitch of 2.459 m; boss ratio of 0.1730. Using CFD, the characteristic curves of the marine propeller and some important results showed that the maximum efficiency of the propeller is 0.66 with the open water propeller and 0.689 with the rudder‒propeller system at the advance ratio of 0.6. The obtained outcomes of this research are a significant foundation to calculate and design an innovative kind of propulsion for ships with high performance.
