Рассматривается вопрос о деятельности Дмитрия Гавриловича Пономарева в должности жандармского офицера, осуществлявшего надзор за частной золотопромышленностью в Западной Сибири. Исследование основывается на привлечении архивных источников, многие из них впервые вводятся в научный оборот. В процессе своей работы автор пришел к выводу о достаточно активной деятельности названного жандармского офицера, который в течение 14 лет, дольше всех своих предшественников и приемников пробыл на указанном посту, что отражено в многочисленной делопроизводственной жандармской документации того времени. Также на примере деятельности Д. Г. Пономарева можно заключить о достаточно высокой степени эффективности жандармского надзора за частной золотопромышленностью в рамках проводимой правительственной политики. ЖАНДАРМСКИЙ НАДЗОР ЗА ЯРМАРКАМИ В СИБИРИ В XIX в.Исследование выполнено при финансовой поддержке гранта Президента РФ для молодых российских ученых (проект МК-2135.2018.6).Исследуется обстоятельства появления надзора со стороны жандармского ведомства за проходящими в Сибири ярмарками. Выявляются те ярмарки, на которых требовалось обязательное жандармское присутствие. Выячняются функции, выполняемые жандармскими чинами во время занятия ими должности временного коменданта на ярмарках. Определены причины свертывания этого надзора.
