A B S T R A C T A R T I C L E I N F OThe current practice and the requirements of industrial enterprises in all industrial areas require a detailed display of manufacturing systems course of events. In this paper, we studied the effects and impacts of computer simulation to improve the actual industrial production. We also verified whether the proposed simulation model and its intervention in the logistics of concrete production in a concrete manufacturing enterprise will correspond to reality. The EXTENDSIM simulation software was used. The simulation results utilization in practice has increased the actual production several times. The simulation results indicated that it is necessary to double the intensity of company supply, i.e. a frequency of entry set to 0.15 days for each timber type. This adjustment increased the performance of unutilized devices and the whole manufacturing system several times, up to 54,475 produced building timber elements, which represents an increase of production by about 199.6 % while maintaining company flexibility.
Inventory can be evaluated from the point of view of a number of aspects. Production and trade organizations nowadays are under great pressure from their competitors and face high expectations from their customers. That is why the cost cutting in all areas can provide a significant competitive advantage. Inventory and its management and administration can therefore represent a source of substantial potential savings. Large inventory volume can significantly increase the costs, but its shortage influences the course of the manufacturing process and, ultimately, the customer satisfaction. It is therefore necessary to continuously optimize the inventory management system in the enterprise. The conducted research also involved an analysis of the structure and variability of the inventory consumption in a business organization dealing with the sale and storage of metallurgical materials. The objective of this article is to evaluate the possibility of the application of the tools used to analyze the structure and variability of inventories in the industrial and commercial practice.
Reducing costs forces of companies to look for reserves also in field of management, support and implementation of material flow. This is connected with the optimization of costs for product distribution, which forms a significant part of the total cost of the company. In practice, it happens that making plans for distribution of materials within a distribution space is left solely to the implementers of distribution and it drivers of vehicles. As a result is uneconomic material distribution and unnecessary cost increases to his distribution. The objective of the paper is to propose a methodology for optimization of transport planning from DC Prešov to the individual Tesco units within the region that comes under this distribution centre. The methodology is based on the Clarke and Wright saving algorithm.
Research background: Individual car transport significantly burdens the environment, especially in the centres of large cities. There is pollution, traffic jams and an increase in overall noise. In the area of passenger car transport, legislation is being significantly tightened. Therefore, there are also increasing demands on public transport operators in the Czech Republic. Previously, most of the fleet consisted of diesel vehicles. These have been gradually replaced by drives that are significantly more environmentally friendly, such as the Compressed natural gas drive. The requirements defined in relation to the reduction of vehicle emissions are increasingly stricter. A number of cities, not only within the European Union, are addressing significant issues concerning the future of public transport. Purpose of the article: The main objective of the article is to demonstrate an in-depth analysis of the operation of transport vehicles in the Statutory City of Ostrava, both from the cost and environmental point of view. The comparison of transport means using CNG, electric and diesel propulsion is made. Specific factors such as the route profile or the environmental impact of the mode of transport are also taken into account. The extent of the data processed and the multidimensional nature of the assessment offer a unique analysis of the problem. The article provides an exact view of the advantages and disadvantages of operating specific means of transport. Everything is based on data on transport operations in the city of Ostrava (the Czech Republic, EU). Methods: The comprehensive evaluation is based on the application of methods from the field of financial accounting, evaluation of measured data from the operation of transport means and, last but not least, on the analysis of empirical data from the given area. The analysed data set is unique due to the time period, as is the multi-criteria evaluation methodology. Findings & value added: The analysis performed demonstrated the economic viability of operating CNG vehicles. The main added value of the article is the unique multi-criteria evaluation procedure for the vehicles. The paper shows the evaluation of a complex decision problem in the transport field in the form of a case study implemented in the city of Ostrava. The evaluation results then consider both cost and environmental factors, which can be described as a comprehensive and highly innovative approach. The defined assessment can then be applied to other European and world metropolises.
The article presents the history of the development, and the reasons for the creation of the SEVESO Directive, with particular emphasis on the latest Directive 2012/18 / EU of the European Parliament and the Council. The SEVESO III directive imposes detailed requirements on the plant operators regarding their control against major accident hazards related to dangerous substances. Individual countries of the European Union apply various requirements (following SEVESO III or more rigorous ones) for industrial plants. In Poland, the requirements of the SEVESO III Directive have been implemented in the Environmental Protection Act, and its executive acts. The SEVESO III Directive requires that the citizens of a given country have access to information about high and increased-risk establishments. In Poland, this requirement is met through the website www.mapy.geoportal.gov.pl. People can find information on establishments posing a risk of a serious industrial accident. The article presents how to use the portal and what information can be obtained there.
Industrial enterprises are now obliged to solve complicated and comprehensive problems. As a rule, they have a multi-criteria character, whereas separate criteria have fundamentally different properties. Logistics mathematics-based tools enabling the evaluation of these complicated problems are being more and more applied at present. A common problem can be the evaluation of a series of supplier's offers for commodities, which are typical by a wide spectrum of properties. It could be, for example, input production raw materials. A possibility of the use of mathematic tools in evaluating the quality of the ore raw materials was analysed within the performed investigation. The paper deals with an analysis of the results in determining a relevant importance of separate criteria.
This paper deals with the optimization of storage and retrieval operations in the expedition warehouse of the metallurgical company. First, the problem of warehouse management in the metallurgical industry is defined. In the literature review, the approaches, methods, and results from studies of different authors are presented. In the main part of the paper, the idea of application of the principles and methods from the automotive industry in the metallurgical industry is described. For this purpose, the differences between the logistics processes in these two industries are described. Implementation of multicriteria inventory management for optimization of storage location assignment and subsequently the order picking is proposed. Conclusions from this paper will serve as a foundation for future work centered around the design of multicriteria support tools for decisionmaking processes related to storage and retrieval operations.
