The heavy metal contents and their bioavailability were monitored in soils of Central Spiš region of SR. This area belongs to long term contaminated and hygienically loaded areas. Soil contamination by heavy metals is caused especially by ore mining, processing and treatment. Soil samples from the Central Spiš contained higher proportions of mobile forms which corresponded to the following sequence Pb > Zn > Cu, while for mobilizable forms the sequence of investigated metals was as follows: Cu > Zn > Pb. Soil pH is one of the parameters that affect significantly the share of bioavailable forms of metals. Higher proportions of mobile fractions of metals were detected in samples taken from soils with acidic pH. Statistical processing confirmed a relationship between the percentage share of lead and zinc in the mobile form and the level of pH/KCl, which was significant for Zn: r = -0.53. The relationships for lead and copper were insignificant.
The effect of fermented pig manure processed on a bed of wooden shavings and fermented for seven days by larvae of house flies on the yield parameters of sunflowers have been investigated on Haplic Luvisol in the pot trial realized in vegetative cage placed on the territory of SAU in Nitra. The experiment consisted of six treatments (0, NPK, Manure1, Manure2, Manure3, Veget). Treatments 0, NPK, and Veget were compared with the treatments Manure1, Manure2, and Manure3, i.e. with fermented manure applied at doses of 4, 6, and 8 t . ha−1.The results showed that application of fermented manure resulted in statistically significant greater stem thickness, higher leaf chlorophyll content, composites and harvest yield of seeds. The plants appeared healthy. Increasing the doses of fermented manure resulted in greater harvest yield of achenes and fat content in them. The dose of 4 t . ha−1 of fermented manure has proven to be insufficient.Out of the tested doses of 4, 6 and 8 t . ha−1 of fermented manure the highest achene yield has been achieved at the dose of 8 t . ha−1 but it was lower than the yield of the treatments fertilized by NPK fertilizers or Veget. From the viewpoint of achene yield quality (fat content) out of six variants the best parameters were achieved with the treatment where fermented manure at the dose of 8 t . ha−1 was applied.The gathered data point towards the applicability and usefulness of manure processed by larvae of flies in agronomy. It is of note, that the manure fermentation period can be significantly shortened, whereby reducing the storage difficulties.

Brun., 2008, LVI, No. 5, pp. 119-124 The eff ect of Difert (a pig manure fermented by caddices of domestic fl ies produced on sawdust litter) on broccoli yield parameters and selected soil parameters were investigated on gleic fl uvisol in a smallplot fi eld trial localized at area of Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (48°18´ N, 18°05´ E). The results showed that Difert applied in doses of 250 kg N . ha −1 and 350 kg N . ha −1 acted positively on the yields of fresh primary broccoli roses. However, the results are not statistically signifi cant. Also a positive eff ect on N, P, K, Ca, Mg contents in broccoli roses was recorded. Difert has a moderate alkalizing eff ect on soil and increases the content of C ox in the soil. Moreover Difert insignifi cantly decreased the content of vitamin C and signifi cantly increased the content of nitrates in broccoli roses, but the worst qualitative eff ect on broccoli parameters was detected by applying mineral N fertilizers, which signifi cantly increased the content of nitrates in broccoli roses and insignifi cantly decreased the vitamin C content. However, it resulted in the highest broccoli yields. The application of mineral N fertilizers had a negative eff ect on the total content of carbon in the soil as well. The eff ect of Difert on broccoli yield and soil parameters refers to the feasibility of reducing the maturing period of the manure from 6 months to 1 week, in order to decrease the manure storage capacities.broccoli, yield, vitamin C, manure, fermentation, caddices, domestic fl y Animal breeding technology and the processing of its excrements greatly determine the quality of farm fertilizers.
