Az
itt bemutatott vizsgálat célja annak feltérképezése volt, hogy 1. milyen
dimenziók mentén észlelnek az emberek épített, lakóhelyi tereket, és 2.
ebben az észlelési-kategorizálási folyamatban milyen hatása van az
építészeti-építoi területen szerzett jártasságnak, tapasztalatnak. Ehhez
röviden összefoglaljuk az ide vonatkozó környezetpszichológiai, kognitív és
személyiség-lélektani ismereteket. Bemutatunk egy REP-technikán alapuló
kérdoívet, amellyel helyek tekintetében lehet a kognitív komplexitást és a
személyes konstruktumokat vizsgálni. Az eredmények szerint a kognitív
komplexitás mértékében nincs eltérés a szakemberek és a nem szakemberek
között, de a szakemberek több dimenzió mentén észlelik/jellemzik a tereket.
Továbbá különbség van a két csoport között az alkalmazott konstruktumok
tartalom szerinti megoszlását illetoen is. Végül a vizsgálat számszeru
eredményein kívül közöljük azt a 94 dimenziót, amelyeket a vizsgálati személyek
alkalmaztak különbözo épített terek jellemzésére.
