Buscamos refletir neste artigo sobre as contribuições da luta política de coletivos juvenis inseridos em contextos de favelas/periferias para o processo de ressignificação do território. Considerando a importância de um posicionamento crítico diante dos discursos estigmatizantes e reducionistas que traduzem a favela como lugar de criminalidade e pobreza, abordamos este território a partir de chaves de leituras que possibilitem a captura da sua dimensão política, de diversidade e resistência. Com base em uma metodologia de revisão teórica, refletimos sobre o conceito de território, abordamos os discursos que se produzem sobre a favela e destacamos a noção de identidade coletiva, a partir da análise dos aspectos psicopolíticos da luta política juvenil. Os resultados revelam que o impacto da luta desses coletivos no território configura-se como perspectiva de um devir que, perante as condições de exclusão social, resistem, e buscam, a partir de suas lutas e conteúdos, apropriar-se de suas potencialidades e produzir novos processos de ressignificação do território e, concomitante, a produção de saídas às narrativas hegemônicas.
