Background: Telomerase up-regulation is found in about 90% of human cancer specimens and contributes actively to carcinogenesis. Results: -Catenin⅐TCF4 plays an important role in telomerase activation. Conclusion: hTERT is a direct transcriptional target of the Wnt/-catenin pathway. Significance: Identifying the function of the Wnt/-catenin pathway in telomerase regulation provides better insight into the role of Wnt pathway in carcinogenesis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
