Em 1687, Isaac Newton apresentou o que seriam os pilares da Mecânica Clássica no livro “Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica”, que ficou conhecido como “Principia”. Nele, Newton definiu o tempo absoluto sem relação com qualquer coisa externa, que deve ser utilizado nas leis de Newton [1].No ano de 1915, Albert Einstein formulou a teoria da Relatividade Geral (RG), supondo antecipadamente a relatividade de movimentos não uniformes e visando o espaço e o tempo como algo único, complementando a teoria Newtoniana [2].Posteriormente, Einstein previu a existência de ondas gravitacionais (OG) que de acordo com a teoria da relatividade geral desenvolvida seriam oscilações do espaço-tempo. Essas oscilações podem ser geradas quando massas são aceleradas e são propagadas com a velocidade da luz (c).
