148esenchymal tumours of the vulvovaginal region range from benign to locally aggressive and malignant tumors. Benign tumors of the vulva are relatively uncommon, constituting a large spectrum of tumors such as angiofibroma, angiomyofibroblastoma, lymphangioma and schwannoma.1-3 Fibroepithelial polyp (acrochordon, fibrolipoma, soft fibroma) is a benign neoplastic/hamartomatous polypoid mass of vulva. 4Although it is a common cutaneous lesion which has a propensity for axilla, neck, groin, eyelids and chest, is relatively uncommon in female genital tract. [4][5][6] When seen in the female genital tract, it is usually seen in vagina.Giant Fibroepithelial Polyp of Vulva: Scientific Letter A AB BS ST TR RA AC CT T Fibroepithelial polyp (FEP) is a flesh-colored pedunculated skin tag which has a predilection for axilla, neck, groin, eyelids and beneath breasts. This benign mesenchymal skin lesion is relatively uncommon in female genital tract. When observed in the female genital tract, it usually presents in vagina. Large vulvar cases are very rare. We present a 39 year old female patient who presented to the dermatology outpatient clinic with a slowly and continuously growing vulvar swelling. Physical examination revealed a pedunculated mass on the surface of right labium majoris which had a diameter of approximately 6 cm. The patient did not have any polypoid skin lesions at any other body region. She was referred to the gynaecology outpatient clinic. The mass was excised under general anesthesia and histopathologic examination was performed yielding the diagnosis of FEP. We present this rare case with its uncommon size and location with review of the literature.K Ke ey y W Wo or rd ds s: : Neoplasms, fibroepithelial; vulva Ö ÖZ ZE ET T Fibroepitelyal polip (FEP), aksilla, boyun, bacak arası, gözkapağı ve memelerin alt kısmında görülme eğiliminde olan, ten renginde, pedünküle bir deri ekidir. A An na ah ht ta ar r K Ke el li im me el le er r: : Neoplaziler, fibroepitelyal; vulva T Tu ur rk ki iy ye e K Kl li in ni ik kl le er ri i J J D De er rm ma at to ol l 2 20 01 16 6; ;2 26 6( (3 3) ): :1 14 48 8--5 51 1
Juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG) is a benign proliferative disorder of dermal dendrocytes which usually presents with skin lesions. Renal involvement is extremely rare. We present a 40 day old female infant. Radiologic imaging techniques revealed a renal mass, prompting a preliminary diagnosis of a renal tumor. Consequently, nephrectomy and histopathological examinations were performed yielding a diagnosis of "JXG". The patient did not exhibit any pathognomonic skin lesions. This case is unique with its unusual clinical presentation. Although renal involvement of JXG is very rare, it should be kept in mind in clinical differential diagnosis in infants and children presenting with renal mass.
