Pesticides are the natural or synthetic agents designed to kill all types of pests. Pesticides are used in different fields like agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, food industry etc. Due to its gross use these pesticides threaten public health and ecosystem. Classification of pesticides done according to various criteria like its toxicity or hazardous effects, its use or purpose, its chemical composition, its mode of action, how or when it works, its formulations, its source of origin. By giving importance to public health, WHO has done classification of pesticides on the basis of hazardous effects With the comprehensive knowledge of classification of pesticides, gross use of pesticides can be minimized by using it judicially and it is helpful to public health & ecosystem.

Traditionally it is mainly used in Kushtha, Udara, Shotha, Pandu, Gulma, Dushivisha, Visha chikitsa. Various In Vitro & In Vivo studies has been conducted to evaluate the anticancer activity of Upavisha Snuhi (Euphorbia neriifolia Linn.) in the form of its extracts. In this study a special emphasis is on gathering details of Upavisha Snuhi from available classical text and assemble data related to the In Vivo and In Vitro Anticancer activity of Upavisha Snuhi.
Arka lavana is a well-recognised and highly effective Lavana kalpana. Lavana preparations are widely and largely prepared in pharmacy as well as used by practitioners of Ayurveda for different ailments. In Lavana kalpana particular heating pattern is followed for drug along with lavana in a sharava (earthen crucible) by subjecting it to putapaka. Arka lavana is one of the commonly used preparation containing very safe and easily available herbo-mineral drugs. It is mentioned in various classical texts like Bhaishajya ratnavali, Rasatarangini, Vangasen, Gadanigraha etc. A scrutiny of classical literature revealed use of Arka lavana in Yakrit-pleeha roga, Gulma, Ajirna, Agnimandya and Udara. Sufficient literary, preclinical and clinical data is not available to prove its mode of action. Thus, present study aims to review all possible references of Arka lavana and formulation ingredients to establish its probable mode of action.
Background: Analytical profile of the drug is essential to assure the drug's safety, quality and efficacy. Objective: The present study was conducted to develop an analytical profile of Bilwadi Agada. Material and Methods: Analytical profile of the Bilwadi Agada tablet was assessed by organoleptic characteristics, physicochemical parameters, pharmaceutical analysis and TLC evaluation. The physicochemical evaluation was done by parameters viz. pH, loss on drying, total ash, water-soluble ash, alcohol-soluble extractive, and water-soluble extractives. Also, pharmaceutical analysis was done by the parameters like hardness, friability, disintegration time, uniformity of weight etc. Results: PH value, Loss on drying, total ash, water-soluble ash, alcohol soluble extractive and water-soluble extractive were 3, 0.068%, 18.5%, 4.5%, 19.2%, and 44%, respectively. The hardness of the tablet and friability was 3.6 kg/cm2 and 0.33%, respectively, whereas the disintegration time of the tablet was less than 15 minutes. Aflatoxins and heavy metals were absent, while no microbial growth was found in 24 hours in the Bilwadi Agada tablet. Discussion and Conclusion: Bilwadi Agada tablets pass all the parametric tests. These values of tests can be used as a reference value for further research on Bilwadi Agada.
