Se presentan los resultados de una investigación cuyo objetivo fue describir las estrategias de escritura que llevan a cabo estudiantes sordos/as de enseñanza secundaria, a partir de una experiencia de enseñanza con perspectiva bilingüe y un enfoque didáctico comunicativo textual, basado en el proceso de escribir. El estudio busca responder a la necesidad de contribuir con propuestas didácticas que consideren las características lingüísticas y culturales propias de este grupo. Se utilizó un diseño que combina elementos del Estudio de Caso e Investigación-Acción, desarrollando una secuencia didáctica ("Autobiografías Autorizadas") dirigida a estudiantes 3er año de un liceo con Programa de Integración Escolar. Los resultados dan cuenta de diversas estrategias utilizadas por los estudiantes en el proceso de escribir que están poco documentadas en la literatura. Destaca la importancia de los soportes digitales como apoyo a la escritura y el rol del intercambio entre pares en distintos momentos del proceso de escribir. Se evidencia el impacto positivo en la producción escrita de un enfoque de proceso. Se concluye sobre la relevancia de abordar la enseñanza de la escritura en estudiantes sordos mediante situaciones comunicativas auténticas, con mediaciones culturales y lingüísticas necesarias para el aprendizaje del español como segunda lengua, con el propósito de asegurar una mejor trayectoria educativa y una inclusión plena en la cultura escrita y en la sociedad.
