Resumo Salas de aula são ambientes de longa permanência, nas quais o conforto térmico é fundamental para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem. No contexto imposto pela Covid-19, são exigidas maiores taxas de ventilação natural, o que pode afetar o conforto térmico. Esta pesquisa objetivou investigar 16 estratégias de ventilação natural em salas de aula do ensino fundamental quanto à eficiência energética, ao conforto térmico e à qualidade de ventilação natural, para clima subtropical úmido, representado pela cidade de Santa Maria, RS, considerando recomendações do Governo Federal e simulações computacionais com o Ansys CFX e o EnergyPlus. Foram analisadas: horas ocupadas em conforto térmico, graus-hora de desconforto, velocidade do ar interno, taxas de renovação do ar e umidade do ar. Estratégias com ventilação cruzada e chaminé-solar ou unilateral norte-sul conectada à circulação aberta atingiram os critérios para renovação do ar, porém com percentagem de horas de desconforto por frio acima de 20%. Observa-se que a suficiência da ventilação natural provoca desconforto por frio excessivo. Este trabalho contribuiu para apontar estratégias de ventilação natural mais adequadas para salas de aula situadas em clima subtropical úmido, demonstrando que estas podem contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade da ventilação natural frente a soluções convencionais.
A sala de aula é um ambiente destinado à permanência prolongada. Dentre seus atributos, estão aqueles relacionados ao seu conforto térmico, cuja importância para a qualidade do processo de ensino e aprendizagem já está consolidada na literatura pertinente. Este artigo objetiva verificar a frequência e a caracterização de trabalhos científicos que abordam a ventilação natural em salas de aula. Para isso, foi realizada uma revisão sistemática e bibliométrica. A revisão concentrou-se em artigos científicos indexados nas bases de dados Web of Science, Scopus, Sage Journals e Scielo, considerando um período de publicações que abrange desde o ano de 2001. Adicionalmente, as revistas brasileiras Ambiente Construído, Revista PARC: Pesquisa em Arquitetura e Revista Projetar: Projeto e Percepção do Ambiente foram incluídas nas bases de dados. Foram selecionadas 172 referências sobre o assunto. Os resultados mostraram que, com o desenvolvimento de softwares e plataformas mais robustas, a simulação tem sido uma ferramenta bastante usada no estudo da ventilação natural, além da aplicação de questionários. Ademais, a pandemia da COVID-19 apresentou-se como um fator em potencial para o aumento de artigos que abordam a ventilação natural em salas de aula a partir do ano de 2020, comparativamente aos anos anteriores. Depreende-se a importância crescente da ventilação natural em salas de aula, seja para garantir o conforto térmico com baixo dispêndio de energia, seja para garantir a qualidade do ar interno, destacando-se o Reino Unido e o Brasil.
