Altos níveis de ansiedade são considerados um fenômeno que, infelizmente, está presente na vida de muitas pessoas. Estes elevados índices de ansiedade podem causar distúrbios tais como a compulsão alimentar e a obesidade. Este estudo tem como objetivo verificar se a ansiedade influencia na compulsão alimentar e na obesidade de alunos da Universidade Federal do Pampa (Campus Dom Pedrito). Usando um conjunto de dados coletados por um survey com 373 acadêmicos da universidade UNIPAMPA. Uma abordagem de regressão é empregada para estudar o impacto das variáveis latentes associadas à compulsão alimentar e a obesidade. Os resultados indicam que a ansiedade pode ter influência na compulsão alimentar. Por outro lado, observou-se que a ansiedade não provoca a obesidade. Os resultados mostram que a compulsão alimentar influencia na obesidade. Além disso, presupõe-se que a compulsão alimentar pode ser uma variável mediadora na relação entre a ansiedade e a obesidade.
A ansiedade é uma temática que vem chamando a atenção dos pesquisadores; inclusive, níveis excessivos dela podem implicar problemas pessoais e sociais, cada vez mais comuns nos dias atuais. Buscando conhecer o nível de ansiedade de alunos, técnicos e professores de uma universidade federal do sul do Brasil e relacioná-la com algumas características pessoais e profissionais, realizou-se uma survey com a participação de 365 envolvidos. Por meio de estatística descritiva, regressão, Anova e Teste-t, evidenciou-se que alunos são mais ansiosos que técnicos e professores. Além disso, constatou-se que alunos mais novos possuem mais ansiedade, sendo que alunas as possuem em maior nível. Os resultados sugerem que a ansiedade se relaciona com a empregabilidade; já que alunos mais novos geralmente não têm uma posição profissional mais desenvolvida, ademais, ela se relaciona com a característica hormonal, já que estudantes do sexo feminino a possuem com mais intensidade. Tendo em vista que a ansiedade atrapalha a vida pessoal e o rendimento acadêmico, sugere-se que universidades busquem dar mais atenção a esse tema, visto que alunos ansiosos podem corroborar com situações indesejadas.
