Der vorliegende Beitrag geht der Frage nach, welches soziologische Profil die Studierenden der Pädagogischen Hochschule Wallis (PH-VS) heute haben. Es werden zwei Hypothesen untersucht. Die erste postuliert, dass sich die Profile der PH-Studierenden von denen der Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Lehrerseminare kaum unterscheiden, welche tendenziell den unteren sozialen Schichten zugeordnet werden konnten, gesellschaftlichen Schichten also, die eine vertikale Mobilität anstreben. Die zweite Hypothese besagt, dass sich die Studierenden der PH-VS aus der bürgerlichen Mittelschicht rekrutieren, einer sozialen Schicht, die traditionellerweise eine horizontale Mobilität verfolgt. Die Ergebnisse der durchgeführten Umfrage stützen tendenziell die erste Hypothese. Vor diesem Hintergrund stellt sich die Frage, welche Auswirkungen die nunmehr tertiäre Ausbildung von Lehrpersonen darauf hat, wie die Studierenden die organisatorischen und strukturellen Veränderungen zu Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts wahrnehmen.
Der vorliegende Beitrag beschreibt das Konzept der Bildungssoziologiekurse an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Wallis (PH-VS). Es werden die verfolgten Ziele und der behandelte Stoff sowie die konkrete Umsetzung dieses Konzepts an beiden Standorten der Pädagogischen Hochschule (deutsch- und französischsprachig) behandelt. Die Schwierigkeiten, denen die Ausbildnerinnen und Ausbildner begegnen, werden offengelegt. Zudem werden die Sichtweisen der Auszubildenden berücksichtigt, um zu sehen, wie sie die offiziellen Ziele wahrnehmen und wie sie die Soziologie als Ressource für ihre künftige Unterrichtspraxis einschätzen. Der zweite Teil des Beitrags stellt die Resultate einer Umfrage mittels Fragebogen vor, die bei Personen durchgeführt wurde, welche die Soziologiekurse an der PH-VS bereits besucht haben. Die Resultate zeigen, dass die Studierenden und Diplomierten die Bildungssoziologie insgesamt sehr positiv einschätzen, dass sie aber nur teilweise deren praktische Bedeutung wahrnehmen. Soziologisches Wissen wird kaum als Ressource wahrgenommen, welche in der professionellen Praxis mobilisierbar ist. Diese Resultate stellen das vorliegende Konzept infrage. Sie geben den Ausbildnerinnen und Ausbildnern Hinweise darauf, wie man den künftigen Lehrpersonen die Ziele der Soziologiekurse deutlicher machen und den Aufbau professionellen Wissens begünstigen könnte.
Le semi-confinement suisse et le confinement français du printemps 2020, liés à la pandémie de Covid 19, ont poussé les enseignant·e·s et formatrices et formateurs à assurer une continuité pédagogique à distance. Grâce aux résultats statistiques d’une enquête, cet article analyse et compare, à la lumière du « déjà-là » des enseignant·e·s des deux pays, les évolutions de leurs rapports au numérique, aux institutions et à l’épreuve de la continuité pédagogique. Nonobstant une bonne dynamique générale, plusieurs disparités laissent entrevoir des perspectives de formation.
La société actuelle vit des mutations qui bousculent les repères traditionnels. Aucune région n’y échappe. Les zones rurales et alpines, qui sont au cœur de cet article, ne forment plus, sur les cartes anamorphiques, qu’un trait ténu à côté des masses en expansion des centres urbains. C’est à la signification que revêt l’école dans ces régions touchées par des changements rapides que s’intéresse la présente contribution. Qu’en pensent les acteurs de l’école aux niveaux décisionnels, à savoir les responsables politiques locaux et régionaux? Et les parents? Comment voient-ils leur village, son école? Comment envisagent-ils leurs rapports avec les villages voisins? L’analyse de presque un millier de questionnaires et d’une quarantaine d’entretiens réalisés auprès d’un large échantillon d’acteurs issus de 44 écoles volontaires des Grisons, du Vorarlberg et du Haut-Valais montre que les positions des acteurs peuvent diverger. Alors que les parents semblent contents de l’organisation scolaire qu’ils connaissent, les autorités politiques, dont dépend l’organisation des écoles des villages alpins, ont des positions plus contrastées, regroupées dans trois catégories, que nous désignons comme conservatrices, pragmatiques et enfin, visionnaires. La question se pose de savoir si ces positions auront des incidences, à long terme, sur l’existence d’une école de qualité (pédagogique) dans les vallées alpines.
