The main purpose of this study was to examine the role of stakeholder participation in project performance of funded project in Rwanda. The specific objectives of the study were based on assessing the role of consultative planning, collective implementation and joint monitoring and project performance of AVEH Umurerwa project in Bugesera District of Rwanda. The study target population was 251 people in which 188 respondents were drawn as a sample size of the study in AVEH Umurerwa project in Bugesera District of Rwanda. The researcher used descriptive research design with a mixed approach of qualitiative and quantitative data. Thus, the study used the questionnaires and interview guides to collect data from the field. The stratified random sampling technique was used to ensure that all the stakeholders of the funded project are selected with the equal chance to participate in the study as from each group of the respondents. The results of the first objective revealed that consultative planning plays a significant and a positive role on performance of funded project in Rwanda since the descriptive results shown 1.621 overall mean and the Pearson correlation results confirmed that there is a positive and significant relationship between consultative planning and quality performance(r=0.712 and sig=0.00<0.01), budgetary performance (r=0.717 and sig=0.00<0.01), and schedule performance (r= 0.783 and sig=0.00<0.01) which implies that there is positive and significant relationship between consultative planning and performance of funded projects in Rwanda. The results of the second objective revealed that collective implementation plays a significant and a positive effect on performance of funded project in Rwanda since the descriptive results shown 1.324 of overall mean; when Pearson correlation results proved a positive and significant relationship between collective implementation and budgetary performance (r=0.647 and sig=0.00<0.01), schedule performance (r=0.639 and sig=0.00<0.01), and quality performance (r= 0.696 and sig=0.00<0.01) which implies that collective implementation has a positive and significant relationship with performance of funded projects in Rwanda. Lastly, the results of the third objective revealed that a big number of respondents strongly agreed that joint monitoring plays a significant role in performance which is also supported by the correlation results which revealed that joint monitoring and budgetary performance has (r=0.650 and sig=0.00<0.01), schedule performance has (r=0.644 and sig=0.00<0.01), and quality performance has (r= 0.705 and sig=0.00<0.01) which implies that there is positive and significant relationship between joint monitoring and performance of funded projects in Rwanda. Thus, basing on the results the researcher concluded that stakeholder participation plays a significant and positive role in performance of funded project in Rwanda. The general objective of this study is to assess the effect of implementation strategies on performance of NGO projects with specific reference to Gikuriro project implemented by Faith Victory Association in Kayonza. The specific objectives were to examine the community empowerment, capacity building and community participation on performance of NGO projects. The study played a significant role to various people including researcher, the management of the project itself, government and academic researchers. When conducting this study, a descriptive research design with two mixed methods such quantitative and qualitative approach was used. The target population was project beneficiaries who were given questionnaires and the project administrators as well as staff who were interviewed. In total the total target population was 13250 people, from whom a sample of 400 was selected using Sloven’s formula. The study used a stratified random sampling technique and data were collected using questionnaires and interviews .The analysis of data was done using SPSS version 22.0 and Microsoft Excel. Both inferential (correlation and regression analysis)and descriptive statistics(mean and standard deviation) were used. The findings pertaining research objectives showed that the community empowerment, capacity building and community participation affect performance of NGO projects. On community empowerment 95% of the respondents Community training, Farmer learning schools, Village NS as capacity building strategies affected performance of NGO projects. The study findings further showed that 89%) of respondents community empowerment through saving groups affected performance of NGO projects. The study findings showed the community participation in utilities or consumable types agriculture was e 61% community participation animal type of assets wwas24% community participation in agricultural tools represent 47% while community participation in house and land 54.8%. When assessing the relationship between implementation strategies and performance of NGO projects with specific reference to Gikuriro project implemented by Faith Victory Association in Kayonza, the study findings showed that there is a significant relationship between implementation strategies and performance of NGO projects presented a positive correlation with p-value (r = 0.092, p = 0.067), (r = -0.008, p = 0.000), (r = 0.016, p = 0.000), (r = 0.042, p = 0.000), (r = 0.006. p = 0.000) and (r = -0.036, p = 0.000). The study concludes that community empowerment, capacity building and community participation on performance of NGO projects are important strategies for ensuring project sustainability. The study, recommended that NGO funded projects in Kayonza District should be have clear guiding implementation strategies and procedure, community participation strategy in place and integrating monitoring in their implementation strategies at all stages.
The Diplomacy performs a key role in shaping what takes area in international relations including bilateral relations, development aids, foreign policy and political and state interests. Diplomacy promotion is changing along with at least three dimensions, so the first is that in today’s world household participants work nationally to meet famous challenges. Not long ago, diplomacy used to promote hobbies throughout the country, while development used to be once the eradication of poverty. The intentions of the researcher to conduct a study to find out the role of diplomacy promotion on economic development of Rwanda with specific consideration of the United States of America Embassy in Kigali. The researcher also used descriptive research design and while collecting data interview guide and questionnaire were used as data collection instrument. The study sampled 152 respondents from 246 employees of United Nations of America Embassy in Kigali. The data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistic. In descriptive statistics mean and standard deviation was used while in inferential statistic correlation and regression analysis through use of SPSS version 21. The study results revealed that capacity building, social welfare and Poverty reduction has role in economic development of Rwanda. The study revealed that that the overall model had R coefficient .975 reveals that diplomacy promotion (capacity building, social welfare and Poverty reduction) had a positive relationship with economic development of Rwanda. The coefficient of determination indicated by Adjusted R square of .950 also indicates that capacity building, social welfare and Poverty reduction explains 95.0% the role economic development of Rwanda .Thus, it implies that predictors of economic development of Rwanda such as Per capital income of and Gross domestic product had 95.0%. The findings of this study proved that there is a relationship between capacity building and economic development of Rwanda (p=.773 and sig=.000), between social welfare and economic development of Rwanda (p=.783 and sig=.000). Thus, it implies that there is a relationship between diplomacy promotion (capacity building, social welfare and Poverty reduction) and economic development with specific consideration of US Embassy Kigali. The researcher would like to recommend to the US Embassy Kigali to enhance the foreign policy regarding promotion of capacity building among the people living in Rwanda to ensure economic development. The researcher would also like to recommend to the beneficiaries of US Embassy Kigali projects to make sure that the projects run for them reduce poverty and enhance the welfare of their households because the results showing that there is a positive significant between diplomacy and poverty reduction, and social welfare in Rwanda.
This paper aims at examining the influence of financial inclusion support on performance of livelihood project among street vendors. Data for this study was collected from livelihood projects in Kigali City; Rwanda. The paper tested the hypothesis that there is significant influence of financial inclusion support on performance of livelihood project among street vendors. This study used correlation research design in order to evaluate the influence of project financial inclusion support on performance of livelihood project in Gasabo district; Rwanda. The population of this research were 200 people including street vendors and head of departments as well as managers of financial institutions; while sample size were 134 respondents that was obtained by using Slovin’s formula. Questionaires and guided interview were used as data collection instruments where descriptive statistics was used for quantitative data analysis through the software of statistical package for the social sciences(SPSS) version 21;qualitative data were analysed by using thematic method ; Karl Pearson product moment correlation coefficient was used to establish relationship between variables while regression analysis was used to check the influence of project financial inclusion support to performance of livelihood project at 16.9 percent of R -square. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 77 percent showed that the instruments were reliable while the validity was established by peer discussion with experts. This study will be significant to head departments, financial inclusion managers, street vendors and MINECOFINE. The findings on the first objective showed that table banking and saving account are considered as capacity building as it was confirmed by 55.5 percent of street vendors that they save money after selling. The findings on the second objective showed that 91.8 percent of the street vendors agreed that they use cashless payment .The findings on the third objective showed that entrepreneurial activities support; monitoring and evaluation influence livelihood project performance , it was also shown that there is significant low degree of positive correlation of 0.402 between capital support and improvement of street vendors' quality and that every increase on us of start-up capital leads to livelihood performance increase somewhere between 7.7 percent and 36.1 percent. It was concluded that effective implementation of project financial inclusion support leads to positive performance of livelihood project. The study recommends that national budget planners and intervening people should provide financial facilities and make effective set up that should enhance performance of livelihood project. The researcher suggests that further research can be done to examine the influence of financial inclusion support on development of livelihood project among street vendors in Rwanda so as to come up with comparative analysis.
