In article 2101301, Fortin and co-workers study transmission electron microscopy images of mature human islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) fibrils. Dense intertwined fibrils resulted from the incubation of synthetic IAPP at a concentration of 10 µM in 10 mM phosphate buffered saline (control). IAPP was co-incubated at room temperature for 12 h with or without resveratrol at a compound-to-protein ratio of 10:1. Resveratrol reduced fibril formation.
