El paso del tiempo ha demostrado que esas realizaciones eran incompatibles con las mutaciones urbanas. La reconversión económica en Lorient, el despliegue urbano en Saint Nazaire o la amplitud de los baldíos portuarios en Brest han hecho que emerjan proyectos diferentes. Mas pragmáticos que los anteriores, estos últimos tratan de reducir la diferencia entre la ciudad existente y las múltiples escalas de su entorno.
