Resumen Encuesta transversal en una muestra de 400 parejas. Objetivo: Identificar actitudes y comportamientos que perciben como violentos de su pareja y de sí mismos, como también la frecuencia y modalidades con las que se presentan. Los resultados principales en la frecuencia global de violencia recibida por varones es de 13.9% y las mujeres 16.6% mientras que la frecuencia de violencia ejercida por los hombres es 12.7% y las mujeres 12.9%. En cuanto a la percepción, si las mujeres ejercieran violencia doméstica a los varones, ellas consideran sus actos más violentos (49.0%) de lo que piensan los varones si fueran ellos los que violentaran (41.2%). Si las mujeres recibieran violencia doméstica de los varones, ellas considerarían estos actos más violentos (51.3%) de lo que piensan los varones si fueran ellos los violentados por sus parejas (40.7%).
ResumenEl sobrepeso y la obesidad representan serios problemas de salud pública. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y correlacional de variables asociadas al sobrepeso y la obesidad en preadolescentes mexicanos escolarizados en México DF. Se valoró la Autoestima general (LAWSEQ, por sus siglas en inglés), Autoestima corporal (BES, por sus siglas en inglés), Actitudes hacia la alimentación (ChEAT, por sus siglas en iglés) e Imagen corporal (BIA, por sus siglas en inglés) y comparaciones por género y edad. La muestra fue de 600 alumnos, niños y niñas de entre nueve y doce años. Se encontró una baja autoestima general (más baja en las niñas y en los participantes de mayor edad) y corporal y una buena actitud hacia la alimentación. Los participantes se percibieron y creyeron ser vistos con sobrepeso y obesidad, pero a futuro e idealmente desearon figuras más delgadas. Se propone que los programas de prevención contemplen educación para la salud, actividad física, control de aspectos genéticos, actitudes funcionales (tendientes a una buena autoestima y actitudes positivas hacia la comida sana), e involucramiento de la familia y el entorno social. Son los significados que elaboramos de las experiencias que vivimos, y no las experiencias mismas, los que definen sus repercusiones. El objetivo de esta investigación fue explorar y analizar desde el construccionismo social, los significados construidos por una pareja sobre su vivencia de secuestro extorsivo económico, así como los pensamientos y sentimientos derivados de ellos. Se empleó como método el estudio de casos, y como técnica de recolección de datos la entrevista semiestructurada. Aunque en ambas narrativas estuvo presente la religión, la mujer significó al secuestro como una prueba de fortaleza y una oportunidad, y el varón como un castigo y una llamada de atención; el temor fue uno de los sentimientos presentes en ambos desde su captura. Después de la liberación sus sentimientos y pensamientos estuvieron relacionados con los significados construidos, en ella se encontraron deseos de superarse y mejorar su vida, y en el varón sentimientos de culpa.
Las expresiones de género se están diversificando paulatinamente en una sociedad contemporánea de profundas transformaciones, dando lugar a manifestaciones más incluyentes. Nuestro objetivo fue explorar los procesos de construcción de una identidad masculina alternativa de un joven universitario, analizando sus narrativas desde el marco teórico socioconstruccionista mediante una entrevista semiestructurada. Dentro de su sistema de significados, se encontró la presencia de violencia en su infancia y un entorno machista que lo llevaron a confeccionar su propio estilo personal y relacional con una clara influencia femenina para definir una personalidad andrógina. También fue patente la presión de los discursos heterocentristas a través de violencias ejercidas hacia los disidentes del orden social. Este trabajo contribuye a visibilizar los procesos de construcción de personalidades diferentes de la normatividad genérica, y subraya la necesidad de desarrollar investigaciones que den voz a las minorías sociales de nuestra época.
