This article aims to discuss the concepts of Social Determination of Health and Social Determinants of Health, by establishing a comparison between each of their guiding perspectives and investigating their implications on the development of health policies and health actions. We propose a historical and conceptual reflection, highlighting the Theory on the Social Production of Health, followed by a debate on the concepts, with a comparative approach among them.
Pesquisa histórico-social tem como objeto a trajetória de implantação e consolidação do Programa de Monitoria Acadêmica na UERJ e na Faculdade de Enfermagem no período de 1985-2000. OBJETIVOS: Descrever a trajetória de implantação da Monitoria na UERJ e Faculdade de Enfermagem e analisar o processo de consolidação do Programa no recorte temporal do estudo. As fontes primárias foram os documentos existentes no Departamento de Estágios e Bolsas - CETREINA, Rede Sirius de Biblioteca, Reitoria da UERJ e Centro de Memória da FENF/UERJ. O projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética do Hospital Universitário Pedro Ernesto/UERJ. Utilizou-se um formulário que foi preenchido pelas pesquisadoras. Os resultados evidenciaram que a Monitoria na UERJ foi criada em 1985 e implantada em 1986 em diversas unidades acadêmicas. Ao longo de sua história, o Programa passou por diferentes momentos que contribuíram para a sua consolidação. A Monitoria apresenta avanços em sua estrutura e sua dinâmica.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar o perfil religioso de 148 mulheres pesquisadas no estudo Drogas, Mulheres e Violência, avaliando a importância religiosa e sua relação com situações de violência e uso de drogas. É estudo exploratório, multicêntrico, realizado em doze países, incluindo a América Latina. This was a quantitative, descriptive and exploratory piece of research conducted with 111 students of lato sensu Postgraduate courses in a public nursing faculty in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The aim was to describe and discuss the prevalence and patterns of alcohol and other drug consumption in health care professionals, as well as the ways in which the worker and the institution in which they are employed deal with this. Alcohol was the most commonly used drug, followed by psycho-active substances. Around 67.6% agreed that drug use in employees may be related to stress and/or working conditions. The issue of drug use in the workplace must, then be approached by promoting prevention programs and workers' quality of life.
A questão do uso de álcool e drogas tem sido crescentemente reconhecida como problema para a saúde dos trabalhadores, apesar dos desafios metodológicos para este tipo de pesquisa. Trata-se de estudo de revisão bibliográfica com o objetivo de identificar e analisar publicações que apresentam enfoque no uso de álcool e drogas por trabalhadores, com foco nos instrumentos de coleta de dados. A revisão abrangeu o período de 1998 a 2008. A metodologia contemplou a definição e aplicação de descritores, e a busca em bases de dados digitalizadas. Após leitura dos resumos e aplicados os critérios de exclusão, foram selecionadas 33 publicações para análise. Os resultados evidenciaram que os questionários Cage e Audit foram os mais utilizados nas pesquisas, e a maioria dos trabalhadores estudados pertencia ao setor de serviços, com poucos estudos nos demais setores.Descritores: Alcoolismo; Enfermagem; Questionários; Saúde do Trabalhador.
