This study assessed the search for technical assistance in Brazilian coffee production and analyzed its correlation with the levels of management and size of rural firms, producing regions and with the adoption of agricultural certifications. It was applied the Management Degree Identification Method (MIGG) to 1174 companies and it was used descriptive statistics. In firms that seek technical assistance and participate in collective organizations, management levels are higher than in others. Adherence to collective organizations is greater among certified firms and among large companies, and the search for technical assistance outside those organizations is greater in smallholdings.
