A pesquisa, do tipo aplicada, de produção tecnológica, objetivou elaborar um objeto de aprendizagem, em LIBRAS, sobre Doenças Sexualmente Transmissíveis, de modo a contribuir para a construção de saberes de pessoas com deficiência auditiva. Inicialmente foram entrevistados três adolescentes surdos, de uma escola pública, situada no interior do Rio Grande do Sul, com auxílio de uma intérprete de Língua de Sinais, com o intuito de alicerçar os assuntos integrantes do objeto de aprendizagem. Os saberes expressos pelos alunos foram limitados, considerando que não identificaram os principais agentes causadores e demonstraram conhecimento deficiente sobre prevenção, sintomatologia e tratamento. Ampliar espaços de discussão transdisciplinar nos cenários de saúde e educação pode auxiliar na reflexão dos profissionais acerca das diversidades e deficiências do ser humano, ampliando o olhar para a elaboração de recursos que facilitem a comunicação e os processos de educação em saúde da pessoa surda.
