Este trabalho, como parte de dissertação, tem como objetivo analisar por meio da atividade de situações problema, com base na teoria de Galperin, a evolução das etapas de assimilação dos alunos, com indicativos em altas habilidades/superdotação. Para o desenvolvimento da investigação e visando a articulação teórico - metodológica, a pesquisa teve abordagem de métodos mistos. A atividade de situações problema, como atividade de estudo, assume lugar de protagonista como método científico, revelando a importância da reflexão e da prática docente no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Os participantes foram 07 alunos que frequentam o atendimento educacional especializado, no componente curricular de Matemática, no Centro de Atividades e Desenvolvimento em Altas Habilidades/Superdotação-CADAH/S em Boa Vista-Roraima. Nesse contexto parcial, por meio de provas formativas, os resultados evidenciados foram as dificuldades dos alunos na busca da solução dos problemas envolvendo as operações fundamentais da matemática e os avanços de etapas de assimilação, na qualidade das operações e ações que os mesmos apresentaram durante o processo de aprendizagem, trazendo à tona a importância da mediação do professor de matemática, na Base Orientadora da Ação, como contribuição na melhoria do potencial dos alunos com altas habilidades/ superdotação, em resolver problemas.
