Dos años después de publicar Hábitat, paisaje y territorio del Tolima, uno de los grupos de investigación de mayor trayectoria de la Universidad de Ibagué presenta su segundo libro: Reflexiones desde la comunicación: 12 años de investigación del grupo Rastro Urbano. Una obra compilatoria concebida como un puente, que cruza geografías y atraviesa la memoria, la identidad y el trabajo colectivo de distintas comunidades e investigadores a lo largo y ancho del departamento del Tolima.
En Colombia, los jóvenes universitarios como actores políticos tienen el papel de responder éticamente a los retos que emerjan en el escenario del posacuerdo. Esta situación exige entender cómo ellos conciben el conflicto armado. Por medio de la elucidación gráfica y la entrevista semiestructurada, en este estudio se indagó por las representaciones sociales gráficas de 100 estudiantes universitarios del Tolima que no tuvieran una relación directa con el conflicto. Estas representaciones fueron analizadas a la luz de los postulados de Jean-Claude Abric (2001), identificando sus núcleos centrales y periféricos. Las representaciones gráficas más recurrentes fueron las siguientes: (a) el reclutamiento forzoso de niños y jóvenes a manos de grupos insurgentes es la más grande consecuencia del conflicto; (b) el conflicto armado es una disputa entre intereses políticos cuya causa son las desigualdades sociales; (c) el conflicto armado es un fenómeno en el que impera la tragedia, el drama y el dolor, ya que sus víctimas son exclusivamente mujeres y niños. No obstante, dichas representaciones estuvieron mediatizadas por relatos hegemónicos de los medios de comunicación, los cuales han difundido información sesgada y discursos de odio.
RESUMENIntervención del espacio público: percepción ciudadana del grafiti en la ciudad de Ibagué, ColombiaEste artículo de investigación 7 presenta el análisis realizado en la ciudad de Ibagué sobre las dinámicas de intervención del arte callejero en el espacio público, teniendo en cuenta los procesos de conformación de colectivos juveniles, la relación entre grafiteros y entes gubernamentales, y la percepción de la ciudadanía sobre esta práctica urbana. Estas dinámicas de intervención empezaron a ser estudiadas en junio de 2013, en una investigación más amplia que contempló dos etapas: la primera orientada a la revisión de la normatividad sobre espacio público y arte callejero, y al análisis de contenido de las noticias publicadas sobre el tema en el periódico local, El Nuevo Día. La segunda etapa correspondió a la aplicación de encuestas a los habitantes de la ciudad y entrevistas a jóvenes grafiteros. En la actualidad es de vital importancia reflexionar sobre el papel que desempeña la formación sociohumanística en la educación integral de los estudiantes en el contexto universitario en general, porque hablar de integralidad supone formar personas con conocimientos, sensibilidades y competencias que les permitan asumir el ejercicio ciudadano de una manera crítica, reflexiva y con posibilidades de incidir en verdaderas transformaciones sociales. Es necesario cimentar una comprensión interdisciplinar acerca del compromiso que tiene las diferentes áreas del conocimiento frente a la formación integral que contribuya a transformar sus prácticas, tanto en el ámbito de los procesos educativos como también las relaciones entre disciplinas y profesiones, ciencia y tecnología, entre otras dimensiones.
