APRESENTAÇÃO Entre os dias 23 e 27 de novembro de 2020, o Netsib-Ufes -Núcleo de Teoria Social e Interpretação do Brasil organizou o II Seminário de Pensamento Social Brasileiro -Intelectuais, cultura e democracia.Neste evento foram apresentadas mais de uma centena de comunicações divididas em áreas temáticas, mesas redondas, além das conferências de abertura e encerramento. Os apresentadores de trabalho e conferencistas vieram das mais diversas regiões do país interessados em debater estes temas candentes do pensamento social brasileiro e do contexto social e político em que vivemos.Este livro é fruto dos debates realizados durante o evento, cujos autores, gentilmente, se dispuseram a encarar o desafio de compartilhar suas reflexões com público mais amplo. Este artigo busca compreender de que modo o sujeito negro esteve alocado na produção canônica da teoria social moderna a partir das obras de Frantz Fanon e de Guerreiro Ramos. Tendo como método a análise de conteúdo, chegamos à conclusão de que ambos os autores se aproximam ao considerar que esta produção canônica concebeu uma narrativa equivocada acerca da subjetividade e da realidade social do negro ao situá-lo como ser estático e inferior. Assim, com base nos conceitos “zona de não ser”, de Fanon, e “negro-tema”, de Ramos, desenvolvemos nossa reflexão em torno do argumento de que a racialização do sujeito negro impossibilitou o conhecimento pleno de sua experiência social pela produção teórica.
