The technique of data processing offers very large possibilities for further considerable perfection of the organization and directing of public health service as well as its further development on a scientific basis. Therefore a united system for collecting, transporting and processing of medical and health information from all public health services on a country-wide scale is proposed. For that purpose at suitable spots in the country local computing centres for the data collection and primary processing for about one million inhabitants must be built. Every local centre should be connected by direct channels for transport of ordinary and express information with the national medical computing centre. Thus, the Ministry for Public Health could continuously dispose on actual and precise information about the health state all over the country, the development of epidemics and other diseases, the utilization of the hospital beds, the distribution and activity of the medical workers etc. It would further have a permanent feedback from and connection with all health services in the country resp. from selected parts of them using the channels for express information. An approximate estimation of the volume of such an activity is given on the basis of a population of ten millions.
